27th Sept 2016

Coordinators Team:

+91 7….: I want to arrange musical  competitions in all d schools with d help of all of u. Kindly let me know how many r interesting to support. Ping me. I want to arrange it in memory of my father guru.

Hemanth Sharma: There should not be issue with support, but these kids have difficulty in studying the curriculum. They have no exposure to music as subject how then and at what basis musical competition can be conducted. Isn’t it better to first expose these kids to music by arranging musical classes? My thoughts.

Srinidhi Trust:

Good mrng all.  . 💐

Dream a Dream ( Www.dreamadream.org) is one organization I work closely work with. I am very much impressed by their Teachers training module and experiential Outdoor camps in Life Skills. They are ready to provide training. Below is content of their request!!! Please feel free to comment and give views.

Rajesh: Greetings from Dream a Dream

Hope you are fine. I am sending you the concept note on our training. As discussed earlier, would like to again share few points said.

We are not charging throughout the training. We expect to provide training venue (free) by the school (Partner school). We expect the school to provide ‘Art Materials’ for all the 4 phases of training. The total costs of the Art Materials will be Rs. 5000/-We will be sending the list of the materials. Dream a Dream needs one point of contact. Dream a Dream and the partner school will be entering an MOU till the training period ends. If the Partner school can afford, they can support with transport, food and accommodation. Further they have knowledge sharing with PYE Global.

Yogish: Excellent initiative Rajesh. I guess this training is mainly for teachers? What is the duration of training and how many teachers can participate per training? Is this good for elementary school children?

Let’s see if any donors come forward to sponsor the training for our teachers

Rajesh: They have both. Teachers and camps for children.  Teacher training is two full days session X 4 sessions.

I am getting trained as Facilitator with DAD in coming future.

I am willing to be the link between Develop Schools and DAD.

20-25 Teachers is good number, I presume to give effective training

Yogish: Excellent info Rajesh. Can someone review this one? They are in Bangalore. My friend Shyamsundar forwarded this in to our team

Mudigere: We will try Yogish

Rajesh: @1……3 seems they are trying to give career and life skill in a combo. Not only students, we should get volunteers trained by them!!!

Dr HS Padma: I am ready to get jamkhana for the school mentioned above. Padma madam

Mohammed Ghouse: @91….. , I’m interested to get trained their website has limited information about module /program, any person I can contact?

Rajesh: Please connect with them through their website!!! @ Dream a Dream

Yogish: I just spoke to Shyam. He said that 90 day boot camp is very good for school dropout especially who are below 20 and don’t know what to do. This group teaches basic skills including English, marketing etc. to get in to job. This is free training program for 90 days designed by IIM students. Phone number is also there. You can call and register. Registration ends on sept 30.

Sunitha: Very good camp this will help so many

Rajesh: Great. Kormangala is one part of Bangalore. We should create many more such initiative at different parts of Bangalore, in association with them!!!

Chandra Acharya: Sir, regarding the above info, I contacted the concerned person. They conducted the above training for college dropout, failed, economically weaker adults training. I contacted

Yogish: If you find any school dropout kids after the 7th standard and doing nothing please encourage them to enroll in to 90 days free boot camp

This group guarantee 100% job placement. This program is a career training and guidance to get in to job. Excellent Chaya madam!

Chandra Acharya: I also thought the same

Yogish: I guess we can work closely with this group to make sure that school dropout kids are taken care. Agree. Our volunteers can take training from them and spread the life skill, job training similar to raspberry Pi workshop

Chandra Acharya: S. She is very positive. She liked our NMMO also. We can also NGO, to send their adults to this camp. She seems to be dynamic

Yogish: Both groups have NMMO concept.

Mohammed Ghouse: http://m.timesofindia.com/city/bengaluru/These-teachers-volunteer-to-make-Karnataka-literate/articleshow/54516272.cms

Volunteering teachers. As per this report Karnataka has the highest number of volunteer teachers (VTs) in South India, who take classes for illiterate in the villages

A total of 3,44,089 volunteer teachers in Karnataka an impressive numbers. Still we complain shortage of teachers? Something is terribly wrong.

Chandrakant Acharya: On ground reality is somewhat depressing yogish!!!

Yogish: Then the article did not write about the ground reality. We need to find out the solutions. Can we take up 90 days free boot camp? Any volunteers want to get trained and then spread the knowledge/skills?

Deadline to register is sept 30.

DS Technology Evangelists:

Krishnamurthy: Kiran -As a first step let us choose the school’s first…

Make a list of existing infrastructure available wrt deployment of this h/w and then block dates for a show in school and train on existing school staff for a sustained effort in this direction. Rather than taking a list of schools I feel first let us choose where we are already interacting in our respective residing areas

Kiran: That’s what I meant do we have that list, if not can we make one.       These are the schools where our Tech Evangelists are comfortable visiting on weekends without spending too much cost/time. This is just the superset, not that we will start donating or educating all of them 🙂

Kollegala Sharma: Will give by evening. Have to take the teachers along.

MCE Kiran: Then we will have a smaller group of us shortlisting and prioritizing

MCE Kiran: There is no hurry, weekend is also fine.

Yogish: Please check this list first that was prepared few months back. Few from these schools teachers are in the group

http://www.mangalorelink.com/school/school-list/elementary-school-list

MCE Kiran: Thanks Yogish this helps. Can you send me by mail e-mail ids of all the current Tech Evangelists by e-mail?

Here is my WhatsApp setup for dealing with lengthy posts from our Tech Evangelists 😉

+91 7…..: You could open WhatsApp on your laptop as well Kiran 😀

Hemanth Sharma: Yes and is good solution when you are at home and already working on laptop. Pl. Visit web.whatsapp.com

Yogish: I will update this list because few teachers are not in this group now.

Kollegala Sharma: Do I fit? Have no tech learning experience except as a user

Hemanth Sharma: In tech world, everything is concentrated on a user who feedback, nothing succeed without it. They are actually the god for whom all tech world work. Do I still need to tell whether you fit in?

Kollegala Sharma: I have an A4 size tablet with wifi. It used to work on win xp & 7.  But now doesn’t on win 10. Have the driver CD too. Can we configure it for pi?

Yogish: School list is updated now

Hemanth Sharma: If you are connected to same wifi router (pi and tablets) you can use pi as you use any application. Just install vnc server in pi and client in XP. Installing putty in XP will also help. I can help if distance is not much to travel or if you can come to my house

Kollegala Sharma: Am in Mysore.

Hemanth Sharma: OK then tell me what you like me to do I can still help to some extent. Installing Ubuntu is one of the option if you are not at all using the tab. An Ubuntu installation pen drive can be made. After that secure shell and vnc client can be installed. All other process are same for pi.

Paramesha: GM….One request to all senior IT employees in this group Hemanth is looking for a job can v all help him to find a job…

Paramesha: 👆🏼Sorry to Yogish n Girish for posting this here

Mudigere: V should help core volunteers like Hemant sir

MCE Kiran: Thanks, this helps. One of my friends has done it will get the details. This message was for Sharma sir for his tab issue

Paramesha: 17 Oct 2016 is last date to pay. Kiran you can ask Kanakapura schools to nominate themselves

MCE Kiran: Guru, I will bring them in only after I see 10 animations posted on MIT site from this group. We are at level 0 here, and they are at Level 2 where children are doing animations every day. We keep having weekly skype call with teachers to clear any doubts they have.

Krishnamurthy: Kiran – can we have link of these children animations publishing – just to see how they are doing…

Paramesha: Kiran nomination for ICT award which I shared earlier..ICT award

MCE Kiran:? Are you asking me to nominate

Mohammed Ghouse: I will be interested to use it.

Paramesha: Inform head master of those two schools

MCE Kiran: Will share more about those schools soon. That is the model our India needs. They don’t have Internet they are doing from examples in Curriculum guide which I showed in the 24th workshop

Paramesha: Is it possible to talk with BSNL.So we can request them to provide internet.

Yogish: Can you please send me the soft copy of curriculum guide?

Paramesha: Yogish please update this link in our website this website ia for post metric scholarships for SSLC n PUC students http://karepass.cgg.gov.in

MCE Kiran: Can we first focus all our discussions around Creative Computing concept? Disgracing will not help. Guru sorry for interrupting, this was created for technology discussions.60 MB

Yogish: Gururaj, please post other topics in coordinator group. If you have uploaded somewhere in google drive let me know the link. I can download from there

Paramesha: Yogish are you providing link for scratch n curriculum guide on our website. ?

Yogish: Not now. I need to go through the curriculum first

MCE Kiran: It is in minutes of meeting I had sent. The URL

Hemanth Sharma: yogish, kiran has a link to the curriculum, it is also available as last point in the agenda he sent. It is better to just provide the link than downloading and then uploading in our site. this way we will have latest copy.kiran sir already responded

MCE Kiran: 5 more days to go 0ne animation on MIT website..Can we see one more today? 😇

Hemanth Sharma: I tried but I was not even able to register, server too slow

MCE Kiran: Good you attempted. We can solve this problem. Pl use your Laptop/Desktop to register

Hemanth Sharma: ok I will try this way too. I failed at least 3 attempts two of them before 24 sept

MCE Kiran: If this attempt also fails, I will register your Id .I will upload for you. Rajeev, now that you have seen 5 workshops on creative computing pl suggest the things which we need to do differently

Paramesha: How to switch backdrop to beach.?

MCE Kiran: Click on stage and you can change

Hemanth Sharma: Through script anyway, let say I just want to move background not the bird

Paramesha: ok. Let me try.

MCE Kiran: Yogish had done it.. In script

Hemanth Sharma: OK will check again I didn’t find any command for bkgd

Paramesha: I did it…Pamesha: There’s option to set stage background

N use code .Switch backdrop to beach Malibu Stage backdrops

MCE Kiran: Upload and send the project I’d. So that all of us can see the source

Paramesha: Ok will do
