Ingredients
Tomatoes – 5-6 medium size
Garlic cloves – 6
Jeera – 1tsp
Red dry chillies – 6
Urad daal – 1/2 tsp
Channa daal – 1/2 tsp
Tamarind – small lemon size
Salt
Oil
Cooking Instructions
In a wide pan place tomatoes next to each other, sprinkle salt,garlic cloves and 2 tsp oil
Close lid, under low flame allow it to cook for 15 mins until the tomatoes get soft and shrink into a puree
In a small pan take 1 tsp oil
Fry – urad daal, channa daal and red chillies
In a blender take the tomatoes puree, above daals, red chillies, tamarind, jeera and make a smooth paste. Add salt.
season it with mustard, 1 red chilli and curry leaves.
Serve it with dosa or Pongal
Tip: You can use red bell pepper instead of tomato.
